VJMC - TRI-STATE RALLY

Broken Hill. NSW.

Friday 23rd of August saw twenty one members arrive in Broken Hill from Adelaide and Barossa (SA), Riverland (NSW) and Mildura (Vic). The weekend started off on Friday night with a meet and greet with a sit down meal at the Mulga Hill Tavern. It was a good night and a chance for everyone to get to know each other and share a few stories over a meal and a few drinks.

Saturday morning was left up to everyone to grab some breakfast and have a look around town. The weekend officially started at the Community Centre at 12.00pm on Saturday with a Show and Shine and a BBQ cooked by the local Broken Hill Veteran, Vintage and Classic Motorcycle Club. We then gathered up and rode out to Umberumberka Reservoir at around 2.00pm. On the return trip we stopped at Silverton with a visit to the Mad Max Museum and the Silverton Hotel before heading back to Broken Hill for a rest up and later heading out for dinner.

Dinner was held at the Musicians Club. After dinner a few people ventured off into the Club function room and enjoyed the entertainment from Adelaide band Chunky Custard. Two awards were given out on the night, the first being for the longest distance travelled (riding) which was won by Simon Reed from South of Adelaide and the other award was given to Trevor Blackwell for the organiser’s choice for his 1961 Yamaha Liberty 250 Ranch Model.

Sunday morning’s breakfast was held at a nice small café in Argent Street, where we all enjoyed a good breakfast, said our goodbyes and wished everyone safe travels home.

Thank you to all those who attended and travelling the distance to Broken Hill. Hopefully we will see you all again and many others in Broken Hill August 21, 22, 23 for the 2020 Tri-State Rally.
