VJMC members who attended the 2010 National Rally at Healesville, Victoria, in late-March have rated the event a great success – and they’re already making plans to attend the 2011 rally!
The 2010 rally drew 116 entries and 135 classic Japanese bikes for the displays and rides – a good turnout considering it was only six months since the 2009 rally at the same venue.
The Public Open Day also drew a good crowd, including more than 500 fellow enthusiasts, many of them on modern bikes and some riding classics that could easily have been part of the VJMC display.
VJMC President and rally organising committee chairman Jeff Eeles said the club and rally organising committee appreciated the support shown by members who had travelled long distances to participate in the rally.
“Some members took home trophies in recognition of the quality of their bikes, but many more were there just for the opportunity to spend a weekend in the company of fellow enthusiasts,” Jeff said.
“The feedback from members, other enthusiasts and from the local community organisations that provided catering, parking and other services to the rally was very positive and made all of the work involved in organising the rally very worthwhile.”
A full report on the VJMC National Rally 2010 will appear in the next issue of the club magazine and will be posted online
